I went to Denver to catch an Amtrak to San Francisco — simple enough.
But while I was there, I remembered a passing mention of a brewery in a book by one of my favourite authors, Kurt Vonnegut. Just a quick line, easy to miss. Still, I was curious.
On a whim, I reached out to the place — and while I was in Vegas, the current owner messaged me back. He was surprised (and a bit confused) that anyone even remembered the reference.
So I changed my plans, booked a flight, and went back to Denver.
Some detours are worth it.
