This isn’t the America you find on postcards. Some is, some is a bit... weirder.

 

Traveling alone for three months, as well as the tourist attractions I sought out the places left behind—abandoned towns, crumbling structures, and backroads that don’t show up on GPS. I also rode the rails.

 

Along the way, I met people whose stories were as strange and interesting as the places themselves. And that's what I write about.
